You know I love twins, right? And seeing families and kids grow and change? And autumn leaves? So this was a win-win-win session for sure!
I met Leon and Kim and their twins for the Christmas Minis at Lee Farms in 2014, when they were still little enough that couldn’t quite fully stand on their own…so it was extra joyful to meet them again as toddlers! Del and Rex were just over two years old, and they were full of smiles and energy and they loved running around and generally being adorable.
Our Cathedral Park family photography session was a great time. At first the kids were a bit shy, and they were clutching some toys as comfort items. But soon they loosened up, with all that room to run and play, and then they were happy as can be! And how can you not smile when these two adorable kiddos are laughing and grinning and playing?!
Cathedral Park is a popular spot for photos in Portland, and for good reason. (We actually saw three other sessions happening while we were there!) The park sits directly under the St John’s Bridge, and the archways of the supports create a gorgeous old-world architecture effect. The whole bridge itself is just beautiful. There are trees in the park that show off the seasons, there’s access to the Willamette River, and there is enough covered area that a little drizzly rain won’t stop the session.
There’s a few sets of stairs, and a little pavilion overlook (perhaps the most popular spot!). It was perfect for the twins–they literally ran in circles, chasing each other and playing with their mom and dad. Then we walked down the steps, and did some stair-hopping. The autumn leaves were just gorgeous–so many colors on the trees and on the ground makes for a perfect fall photo session.
Thank you so much, Kim and Leon and family! What a fabulous session!
