Courtney and Dustin’s family of six moved to Portland last fall, from New Mexico! What a huge change that must have been. They love family photos and have been getting them done for years, but understandably didn’t get them done last year, having just moved and with a very young baby. Now that baby is a little over a year old, so it was time to get another family portrait with all four kiddos! I was honored to photograph them for their first official portrait as six lovely people!
This was such a fun session. The setting was GORGEOUS. We met at the Lower Macleay Trail, near the Audobon Society, in Forest Park. The trail winds downhill through the lush forest and ambles along a babbling stream. Then there’s the Old Stone House, which is this relic/ruin just sitting there in the middle of the forest right off the path. And of course, here in the Pacific Northwest, you never know what kind of weather you’ll get on any given fall weekend, and this Saturday started out cloudy and just a bit drizzly. However, that just added to the atmosphere of the forest setting (plus the canopy protected us from most of the drizzle). It was a little bit magical! There was plenty of greenery, of course, but there were also many gorgeous, colorful maple leaves in many parts of the trail. It was kind of an autumn wonderland, and we couldn’t have asked for anything more beautiful and more perfectly Portland! (And even more Portland–the sun had come out by the time we left!)
Check out these four beautiful children: Delaney is 7, Grayson is 5, Campbell is 3, and little Rett (who everyone calls Mett) is almost 1.5. I had such a fun time exploring with them (and you can see they were having fun too!)–they are great kids! They were so interested in all the sights–rocks, leaves, the Stone House. So much to explore!
And Courtney did a fantastic job styling everyone–the outfits were awesome, lots of blue with pops of orange. The family looked great against the green and golds of the forest!
