What an epic senior photography session! I’ve lived in the Portland area for eleven years and have been to Vancouver plenty of times, but somehow had never been to the waterfront. And WOW, it was an amazing photography location! There was so many visual treats – I loved playing there and I can’t wait to do more sessions there.
R is a senior in Vancouver who loves working out and playing video games. He chose to wear this dapper suit–doesn’t he look fabulous?? He did an amazing job posing and moving and going along with my sometimes-weird directions. 🙂
This session with R was kind of last minute, as their other photographer had gotten an injury and they were up against a yearbook deadline. The time had just changed so I didn’t realize that our session would coincide with golden hour, but man oh man it made the photos even more epic and incredible!
I do offer different time lengths of session. It seems like a lot of senior boys only want a 30 minute session–but that works fine, because we can get a wide variety of images in a short period of time! The sky gets dark quickly at sunset, so there wouldn’t have been much more light to work with on a longer session anyway. Flexibility is key! But also, it helped that there were all kinds of places and pieces to use as backgrounds–we didn’t even get to all of them!
When the sky is dramatic like this, you want to keep the vivid, natural colors! Good thing I bring light to make sure that the senior looks fantastic in any scene.
