Rebecca and Kevin were expecting their second child, a girl. She’d previously figured that she didn’t need maternity photos, but then as the due date got closer, she realized it would be a great opportunity to document her belly and their current family of three. And I am so glad, because this family is just warm and friendly and adorable, (and spoiler alert, we did a newborn session with the new baby too!)
We arranged our session to be at Westmoreland Park, which is filled with lovely spaces in natural tones. There are trees, a duck pond, several beautiful wooden bridges, tiny babbling brooks, and of course the fabulous Nature Park playground, which also features all-natural structures. (If you have children, they will love clambering and climbing everything, AND there’s a big sand area with shovels and buckets. Kid heaven!) The weather that morning was cloudy and not too hot yet, which also made things easier. Oh, and I loved the outfits that they put together–nicely-coordinating pinks and blues. Rebecca’s blue jewelry against the dark pink blouse is especially fantastic, don’t you think? And her hair streak even matches too. 🙂
Two-year-old Owen had a ball exploring and running around the park. Like many toddlers, he was a bit shy at first…but soon enough, his big personality came bursting out. He was so funny and silly and I of course loved chasing after him and capturing his little self. It’s clear that this family really enjoys their time together. We got a few lovely traditional posed shots of the whole family, but my favorites are the ones where you can really see who they are. Owen ran, pointed, jumped, hugged, giggled, crawled, and more, and we got to capture all of that action and interaction. Such sweetness and joy! Seriously, didn’t I tell you this family is adorable? 🙂
If you have kids who like to run, jump, hug, laugh and explore, let’s create a session to capture all that! Contact me now to book–September is already full, so I’m booking for October and November!
