I’m so excited to share some exciting updates about images that have done well in the last two years!

First up, for the 2024 Voice competition, one of images was a Click Choice selection (ranked between the four finalists and honorable mentions), for the Light Story category. It’s an image of Sydney, a model that I worked with at the Promoting Passion Conference in 2022. It was my first week playing with underwater photography, and Sydney was so excited to be part of it. And she was amazing, as you can see!

I also received two honorable mentions! First, the black and white one for the Contrast category. It’s a random shot I took at home when the light was super bright and I saw these perfect shadows. Isn’t it so satisfying?

The second is for the Architecture category. It’s a picture from our trip to Palm Springs a couple years ago. We were walking across a parking lot when I saw this; it’s the back of the building. I am always drawn to lines and strong geometry, and this building was just delicious. We walked around it and I took a couple shots:

And then from the parking lot I looked back and saw this view! Pretty sure my jaw dropped and then I carefully lined up this shot. Ooh, I love it.

And then the big excitement: I entered the Oregon Society of Artist’s photography exhibition this spring. I entered two images from my White Dress Project.

My husband and I were at the reception when the awards were announced and I was *beyond* shocked to hear my name called–for FIRST PLACE! I was in complete disbelief, and I still am!
